OTRC: David Arquette on his 'DWTS' experience: 'I've learned a lot about myself'

David Arquette talks to OnTheRedCarpet.com after seventh 'Dancing With The Stars' results show on Nov. 1, 2011.

Warning: Spoilers ahead! On Monday night after "Dancing With the Stars' spooky Halloween special, actor David Arquette said he was happy with his progress on the series and his continued success on the show was "icing on the cake."

However, unfortunately for Arquette and his partner Kym Johnson -- who was last season's pro winner -- the two were booted from the ball room on Tuesday, November 1.

"I kind of did the numbers in my head, I thought of like the demographic and you know, Nancy Grace has got a really strong following. She did a great job last night and it was all really close, so I kind of know we were going home," Arquette told OnTheRedCarpet.com after "Dancing With The Stars: The Results Show."

The 40-year-old actor, who separated from his wife Courteney Cox last year, had a brief stint in rehab in January for alcohol addiction. Cox and the couple's daughter Coco have been in the audience for several of Arquette's "Dancing With The Stars" performances. Arquette, who is 10 months sober, said his time on the show has helped him with his path to wellness.

"One time this week, something went wrong in one of the rehearsals and the rest of the day I just beat myself so bad" he said. "And it's the same sort of, you know, voice in my head that's critical that, you know, in the past had led me to do like bad things and so now I've kind of like confronted that. "

"I feel like I accomplished everything I came out here to do. I feel like I've learned a lot about myself and I got to learn how to dance and dance with Kym so it's been really amazing," he added. "

Arquette's partner, Johnson said that the actor "brings so much heart and soul to this group." She added "Everyone does love having David around all the time and he's just a great energy in the room always."

"There's no real sadness," the actor said about leaving the show. "I mean, I would love to learn the Foxtrot. That's sad that I'm not going to be able to do that. But I really do want to actually do some things and dance with her and, you know, do a couple of appearances or something."
