Miley Cyrus has signed on to voice Adam Sandler's teenage vampire daughter Mavis in Sony Pictures Animation's 3D film "Hotel Transylvania."
Sandler will portray Dracula in "Hotel Transylvania," which is about Dracula's "five-stake" holiday resort for monsters, which he built to shield his daughter from humans.
"Here's a little known fact about Dracula: he is not only the Prince of Darkness; he is also a dad," Sony said in a statement.
"Over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis, Dracula fabricates tales of elaborate dangers to dissuade her adventurous spirit," it added. "As a haven for Mavis, he opens the Hotel Transylvania, where his daughter and some of the world's most famous monsters - Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, a family of werewolves, and more -- can kick back in safety and peace."
Things get complicated when a regular human (voiced by Andy Samberg) ends up staying at the hotel.
The cast also includes Kevin James and Fran Drescher, who will portray Frankenstein and the bride of Frankenstein, respectively. Cee Lo Green, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon and David Spade will also lend their voices to the monster flick.
"We're thrilled to be working with Adam to create a comedic Dracula for a new generation," Sony Pictures Animation president of production Raimo-Kouyate said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.
"We have a unique story about that iconic character, starring a phenomenal cast directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, that re-imagines Transylvania and its legendary monsters in the way that only animation can," he said.
Sandler is one of the most successful comedians in Hollywood, known for movies "Billy Madison," "The Wedding Singer," "50 First Dates," "Funny People" and "Grown Ups." He also starred on five seasons of "Saturday Night Live" during the 1990s.
18-year-old Cyrus is most famous for her title role in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" and for pop songs such as "Can't Be Tamed" and "Party in the U.S.A."
Cyrus began her acting career when she was 8 and rose to fame with her role on "Hannah Montana," which ended earlier this year after four seasons.
Cyrus said last year she had outgrown "Hannah Montana" and began raising eyebrows when she showcased a more mature image in performances and music videos.
"Hotel Transylvania" is slated for release on September 21, 2012.
