Stolen-property-ring suspects arrested in Costa Mesa

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.

At about 8 a.m. Saturday, Newport Beach police detectives served a search warrant at a residence on the 1000 block of Valencia St. in Costa Mesa, according to the Newport Beach Police Dept.

An investigation led detectives to the location, where a "fence" was being sold stolen property. Stolen property was allegedly bought by the fence and subsequently sold at the Orange Coast College Swap Meet.

Detectives found numerous items believed to be stolen property, including electronic devices like phones, laptop computers and GPS units.

Four brothers were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

Costa Mesa residents Alfredo Alba Flores, 46; Dorian Alva Flores, 22; Dante Alva Flores, 21; and Edgardo Alva Flores, 19, were arrested and booked at Newport Beach Police Jail and held on $20,000 bail.

Police want to identify the rightful owners of the recovered stolen property.
