Update fall wardrobe by shopping in your own closet

LOS ANGELES

Harper's Bazaar shows us how to find new and inexpensive ways to update our fall wardrobe while shopping inside our own closets.

For starters, dig into that closet and pull out any velvet pieces, such as the port wine pantsuit from Elie Tahari.

"This is a great look to have in your closet, because each piece can be worn separately," said Jane Loddo of Harper's Bazaar. "It's now a definite go to for a fabulous fall look."

Also look around for that mixed print-dress you may have put away. The more detailed, the better.

"With the v-neck and the empire waist, it's sure to be a stand-out piece in your fall closet," said Loddo. "It's that perfect day dress."

Black-and-white is a trend that now works year-round, so find that multipurpose outfit, such as a bold wrap-style jumpsuit.

"Wear it as a day look with an opaque leg and a boot, or maybe as an evening look with a sexy strappy sandal," said Loddo.

Don't forget to shop the jewelry box as well. If you don't already have one, a good watch is the ultimate accessory.

"A good watch is something you can wear year-round. It's that great investment piece, and whether its sporty or romantic, you can wear your watch every day," said Loddo.
