OTRC: Demi Moore: We don't live in black or white, we all live in the gray

Demi Moore appears in a still from the 2011 film, 'Another Happy Day.' (Phase 4 Films)

Demi Moore has yet to directly address the continuing rumor mill surrounding her and husband Ashton Kutcher's alleged infidelities, but the actress did speak about the complications of marriage in an interview promoting her newest film.

In "Another Happy Day," Moore took on the role of a short-fused second wife who is forced to deal with her husband's (Thomas Haden Church) ex-wife Lynn (Ellen Barkin) when one of their children gets married. The dysfunctional family drama becomes increasingly intense as the event continues.

"That was the most interesting thing, the unintended pain and hurt that can be caused within a family... and then the need to be heard," Moore told Fox News. "We as human beings have a tendency that, when we are hurt, we want to blame. But when we blame we give our power away. It is so well illustrated (in the film) without being commented or judged. Everyone wants permission to have their pain, and they feel like their pain has been denied."

Moore also insisted that nothing is ever as simple as it seems, perhaps echoing the complications in her personal life.

"We might feel comfortable being in the black or the white, the yes or no, but the truth is we all live in the gray," she continued. "We've all been the victim, and we've all been victimized."

Moore turned 49 years old on Friday, and the tabloids took a break on her alleged marriage woes to comment instead on her "frail" figure.

Demi Moore recently visited husband Ashton Kutcher while he shot scenes for the CBS series "Two and a Half Men," weeks after cheating and breakup rumors surfaced.

Kutcher, 33, and Moore have not talked about the state of their six-year marriage directly but have posted cryptic messages online. Last week, Kutcher had in an online video blasted the media and the way "people can bastardize the truth." He appeared in the clip without his wedding ring.

In mid-October, a 22-year-old woman named Sara Leal told Us Weekly in a video interview that she and Kutcher had a one night stand. She said he had told her at the time that he was "separated" and added that her life "has been a mess" ever since the incident.

Kutcher and Moore have appeared in public several times since the cheating and breakup rumors surfaced in September, although they reportedly spent their anniversary apart to attend separate promotional events. They recently visited a Kaballah center in Los Angeles, where they attended a private meeting, and they were also spotted on a Kaballah camping retreat.

"Another Happy Day" opens in a limited release on November 11. Watch a trailer below.
