Katie Holmes jokes that she "got along really well" with "Jill," Adam Sandler's female character, on the set of their new comedy film, "Jack & Jill."
The comedy film showcases the hijinks that ensue when a man's twin sister comes to visit him during Thanksgiving. Adam Sandler plays both siblings, Jack and Jill. Holmes plays Jack's wife.
"I really enjoyed Jill on set," Homes, 32, told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Los Angeles premiere of the film. "Jill and I got along really well. I thought Adam did a brilliant job creating this character because Jill is funny and extreme, but to match that extremeness, she has a real sweetness and I think that that's important."
"It was a lot of fun," she added. "We had a great time. We shot some of it on a cruise ship and our families came. It just felt good laughing all day and working on something that you knew was going to bring a lot of joy to people, a lot of joy to audiences."
Al Pacino also stars in "Jack & Jill" as a crazier version of himself. Jack, a commercial producer, wants to cast him in a Dunkin Donuts ad. However, Pacino, who is dealing with a career crisis, is more interested in getting closer to Jill, whose spunky attitude he admires.
Pacino told OnTheRedCarpet.com that Sandler was "totally convincing" as a woman in the film that the character is "not really very hot."
"Jack & Jill" is set for release on Nov. 11, 2011. Check out a trailer below.
