A high-speed pursuit turned deadly when a parolee caused a four-car collision in San Bernardino.

The chase started Friday night after California Highway Patrol officers tried to pull over a white Honda Civic. They said the driver, a 42-year-old parolee, took off, at times going more than 80 mph.

The car's headlights were off, and the driver sped through several red lights.

He eventually lost control and died in the four-car crash that happened at Mount Vernon Avenue and Fifth Street.

Two other people in the car were taken to hospitals with serious injuries.

Six people in the other vehicles suffered minor injuries. They were also taken to the hospital.
