Missing OC college professor found after 2 months

LOS ANGELES

Amy Ahearn, 40, was missing since August. That's when she failed to show up to teach classes at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, where she taught English composition and literature.

Ahearn's sister contacted Eyewitness News Saturday and said she was found Friday in East Los Angeles by the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/. There was no word on her condition or what she was doing when she was found.

The professor's sister told Eyewitness News she was still waiting to hear back from authorities regarding her sister's condition but was very relieved she was found.

Ahearn's disappearance was deemed unusual, as she was well-liked and respected as a teacher.

The family believed Ahearn was suffering from Huntington's disease, which runs in the family. Though Ahearn has never been diagnosed, the family said she began exhibiting symptoms of mental illness five years ago.
