The family was at a store near Culver Boulevard and Slauson Avenue getting snacks before the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez boxing match Saturday night.
As the dad was getting out of his car, three people pulled up in another vehicle and opened fire.
According to police, the father was hit in the chest. His 15-year-old daughter and 16 year-old son were also injured. Authorities are not sure if they were grazed by bullets or hit by flying gas.
Police believe they were the innocent victims of gang gunfire.
No arrests have been made.
