The accident happened Saturday along the 8100 block of Friends Avenue.
The victim was identified as 24-year-old Joel Ramirez.
Investigators said the toppled power line started a fire on the roof of a home.
When Ramirez went outside to put the fire out, he came in contact with the current. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
It appears the stormy weather may have played a role in bringing down the power line.
