Arraignment postponed for suspect in killing of two year-old

SANTA ANA

Angel Perez of Santa Ana is charged with gross vehicular manslaughter. His bail was increased from $100,000 to $165,000.

Prosecutors say Perez and a friend drank 24 bottles of beer combined at a Santa Ana restaurant last week. Perez then drove his car and ran a stop sign, hitting Yesenia Romero, who was walking with her two year-old son Darwin and one year-old daughter. Darwin was killed, his mother suffered cuts, and the infant was unharmed.

Witnesses obtained Perez's license plate number and police found Perez later at his home.
