Ricki Lake is going to make her return to the talk show world in 2012, according to reports.
Lake ReTweeted a report on Thursday, November 14, by Broadcasting & Cable magazine which said "The Ricki Lake Show" has been picked up by stations in major markets like New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Lake previously said her former program, which ran from 1993 to 2004, showcased guests dealing with love, sex, cheating and other issues. Instead, her new series is based on her personal experiences. The series will be geared toward the 25-to-54 year-old women demographic and will premiere in the fall of 2012.
"I want to spark ideas and conversations and inspire people to take active roles in their communities, relationships and their well-being," said Lake in a statement, according to the magazine. "I have definitely grown as a person since I put down the mic in 2005, and I couldn't be happier to share and continue the journey with both my existing fans and an entirely new generation of women."
Lake is currently in the final stretch of her run on "Dancing With The Stars" where she is a top contender for the mirror ball trophy with partner Derek Hough.
The 42-year-old actress and television host and three-time champion Hough, 26, received a score of 30 out of 30 from the judges for their Paso Doble, 29 out of 30 for their Argentine Tango and an extra 8 points for their Cha Cha Relay in week 9 of ABC's hit celebrity ballroom dancing series (read recap).
The pair earned the highest combined score of the evening with 67 points. Rob Kardashian and his partner Cheryl Burke were close behind with a combined 65 points.
However, Lake is her own biggest critic. "I was never the favorite, I think, of anybody's list," she told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Tuesday, November 15, after the results show. "I take direction and I'm a quick learner, I think, but I'm not light on my feet and so, you know, i am very much surprised that I'm here. and I'm really proud."check for local TV listings).
