Swift beat such contenders as Adele, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to capture all three awards that she was nominated for at the ceremony held at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

"I ended up writing the record by myself, so the fact that you would honor it this way, you have no idea what this means to me," said Swift after winning for favorite country album for "Speak Now." She was also won favorite country female artist.

Nicki Minaj, the pink-loving hip-hop diva, won two awards

Adele had been the night's leading nominee with four, but was absent from the show because she is recovering from recent throat surgery.

The British star tied Swift with three awards: favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album for "21."

Justin Bieber joined LMFAO in animal-print pants for the show's finale performance of "Party Rock Anthem."

Bieber shuffled with the duo, but may have been upstaged by David Hasselhoff, who stripped down to smiley-face underwear during the second leg of LMFAO's finale performance of "Sexy and I Know It."

The show's full roster of performing talent included: Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Drake, Gym Class Heroes, David Guetta, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Pitbull, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, The Band Perry and will.i.am.
