Occupy UCLA stands in support with Davis

WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES

The UCLA students rebuilt their Occupy encampment on campus after being shut down last week by police in riot gear. Fourteen protesters were arrested.

Those who returned say they are in it for the long haul.

"We're here to confront the administration, we're here to confront these tuition hikes, we're here to confront the running of our public university like a private corporation," UCLA student KT Bender said.

The protesters on the UCLA campus said they know police action is possible.

"I think there's always a threat because we didn't ask permission to be out here. We have tried and they denied us on several occasions," UCLA student Kyle Arnone said. "There's certainly a threat that we'll be removed. If the students do decide to defend the encampment, it's possible that police will use force."
