Daughtry front man, former "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry released the band's third album entitled "Break the Spell" on Monday and got ready with an American Music Award performance on Sunday night.
"We are so stoked," Daughtry told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the American Music Awards on Sunday. "We couldn't be happier. We're amongst greatness here and to be lumped in that category and be performing with the same people that we've looked up to for years? I mean, we're honored. We couldn't be happier."
The band performed their first single, "Crawling Back to You" at the award show.
The former season 5 "American Idol" finalist and his North Carolina-based band were the best selling Rock Group of 2007 and their newest album is expected to perform well.
"Break the Spell" hit stores five years after Daughtry's self-titled four-time platinum debut album, which sold over 4 million albums domestically. It also outsold "Idol" winner Taylor Hick's debut album and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard.
Their second album, "Leave This Town," hit the shelves in 2009.
The band's current line-up includes Daughtry on lead vocals and guitar, Josh Paul on bass, Josh Steely on lead guitar, Brian Craddock on rhythm guitar and Robin Diaz on drums and percussion.
Daughtry has earned four Grammy nominations and several hit singles, including "It's Not Over," "Home," "No Surprise," "Feels Like Tonight" and their new single, "Crawling Back To You," which landed the No. 11 spot on Billboard's Adult Pop chart.
"Break the Spell" is up against Rihanna's new album "Talk That Talk" and Nickelback's "Here and Now" in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
