OTRC: Dita Von Teese to launch new lingerie collection, Target Australia named retailer for 2012

Burlesque star and model Dita Von Teese is launching a lingerie collection inspired by her own vintage style.

The 29-year-old Michigan native, who is also famous for her former marriage to shock rocker Marilyn Manson, plans to launch her Von Follies collection at Target department stories in Australia in February 2012.

It will include overwire bras, high-waisted underwear briefs, garter belts and corsolettes. The collection "combines sophistication and sensuality with distinct touches such as grosgrain and velvet ribbons, delicate eyelash lace, and control mesh to give the essence of the sultry 1950's glamour girl," according to a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.

"There are so many vintage lingerie pieces I love that I haven't been able to find in all my years of collecting," it quoted Von Teese as saying. "I wanted to design pieces that are tributes to my vintage obsessions, to make them beautiful and functional, while modernizing them for everyday wear."

Von Teese also launched a vintage lingerie collection for WonderBra in 2008.

Items from her new line, co-created by lingerie company Diamondcut International, will retail from about $17 to $79 and appeal to women of all shapes, the statement said. Von Teese herself is known for her petite frame.

"It was very important to me to offer lingerie in a large range of sizes," she said. "It was important to me to accomplish the task of making these beautiful things in sizes that can make any woman feel sexy and glamorous, and I'm very proud that we have been able to do that, while keeping prices affordable."

But you don't have to go Down Under to find Von Teese-inspired clothing. She Tweeted that her lingerie line, as well as her new perfume and dress collections, will also be sold in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world next year as well.
