64-year-old rams car into sign in Industry, survives

A 64-year-old woman survived a close call in the city of Industry after a crash that mangled her car on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011.

A 64-year-old woman survived a close call in the city of Industry after a crash that mangled her car.

Investigators said the woman hit a sign at a gas station near Valley and Workman Mill Road at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

She was trapped inside the car for a while but was eventually freed and taken to a local hospital.

She had only minor injuries.

Police said the woman may have stepped on the gas instead of the brake while making a turn.
