OTRC: Amy Winehouse's dress from the 'Back to Black' album cover sells for $67,120

A dress worn by the late singer Amy Winehouse on the cover of the 2006 "Back to Black" album was sold at an auction in London for $67,120 (43,200 pounds).

The polka-dot chiffon dress, designed in 2006, was purchased by Musea de la Moda - a fashion museum in Santiago, Chile, according to the Associated Press.

Disaya, the designer of the dress, reportedly agreed to donate proceeds from the sale to a foundation set up in Winehouse's name. Mitch Winehouse, Amy Winehouse's father, started the organization after the singer's death in July. It aims to help troubled children and young adults.

He said in a previous interview that the charity group will aid "a range of causes close to Amy's heart," adding: "This could include help for children in trouble, suffering from health problems, children's hospices and more."

Mitch Winehouse was in attendance at the auction and called Disaya's decision to donate the proceeds a "wonderful start to the foundation."

Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on July 23. A judicial inquiry found in October that the singer, known for sporting a fake beehive and for her lengthy battle with substance abuse, died of accidental alcohol poisoning.

Mitch Winehouse signed a deal in October with Harper Collins to write a book about his daughter due out in the summer of 2012.

The book will be called "Amy, My Daughter." Mitch Winehouse said he will write about everything from his daughter's childhood to her singing career to her well-publicized struggles with substance abuse and proceeds from the book will also go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

A record of Winehouse's final recording is set to be released on December 5. The album, Winehouse's third major studio record, contains the singer's recently-released duet with Tony Bennett, "Body & Soul" as well as a cover of the Carol King song, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow."
