Cities targeted for selling liquor to minors

ONTARIO, Calif.

Police said 108 liquor sales locations were tested in nine cities. Of the 108, 20 locations sold liquor to a minor. In addition to those violations, one person was observed threatening the decoy and was arrested.

Of the nine cities, Pomona and Chino Hills had no violations.

The other cities were Ontario, Upland, Redlands, Montclair, San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana. Ontario had the most violations, with six.

The penalty for furnishing alcohol to a minor is a minimum $1000 fine and 24 hours of community service. Persons who sell to a minor face a minimum fine of $1,000, and/or 100 hours of community service for a first violation.

Participating agencies included Upland Police Department, Montclair Police Department, Pomona Police Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff/ Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, Fontana Police Department, San Bernardino Police Department, Redlands Police Department, San Bernardino County Sheriff/ Chino Hills Police Department, Palm Springs Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
