The pop star met with members of the Obama administration Tuesday to discuss her work with bully prevention.
She didn't get the chance to speak with President Barack Obama. But earlier this year, the president and Lady Gaga met at a fundraiser in Silicon Valley, where the singer thanked him for his efforts to stop bullying.
The White House held an anti-bullying conference in March. Officials estimate that bullying affects 13 million students.
"Lady Gaga has described this cause as a personal one - she has said that as a child, she was often picked on for being different," Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett wrote in a blog post on the White House website. "I am deeply moved by the way she has used her story, and her success, to inspire young people, and shine the spotlight on important issues."
