The president of Southern California Edison is sending apology letters to the hundreds of thousands of customers who were left without power after last month's damaging windstorm.

Ron Litzinger said while crews performed well, they could have done a better job at informing customers about when electricity would be restored.

About 430,000 customers lost power - some for as long as a week - when hurricane-force winds knocked down trees and power lines.
