This might come as a surprise to some viewers but unlike her famous family, Kendal Jenner is not a fan of the spotlight.
The 16-year-old, who is the daughter of Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner, was the center of attention for the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" special "Kendall's Sweet 16."
In the episode Kendall Jenner was seen butting heads with her mother over plans for a 16th birthday bash. Kris Jenner wanted to make the birthday an event, like she did with some of her daughter's past birthdays, but Kendall Jenner was not a fan of the idea.
"I know it's cool for the fans, but I honestly don't like being the center of attention," Kendall Jenner told E! News about the episode. "It's just not me. I like being like laid-back and being able to be a kid who goes to school."
At one point Kris Jenner plans a big getaway party to the Bahamas for Kendall and her family, which includes famous sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian as well as brother and former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant Rob Kardashian. Kendall only finds out about Kris' plans after Kourtney tells Kendall she won't be able to travel for the birthday. Watch Kendall's argument with her mother below.
In the end, Kendall Jenner won out and had a smaller bash at a hotel in West Hollywood, California and asked guests to donate gifts for sick patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
"For my mom to be like, 'Oh, we're going to have this huge, extravagant party,' and to think those kids can't even go to a party because they're sitting in a hospital bed, it's just really sad," Kendall Jenner said during the show.
Another dramatic moment from the episode involved Kendall failing her driver's road test the first time for failing to check her blind spot when went into a bike lane to make a right turn. The teen, who is an aspiring model, breaks down the car after failing the test. She eventually passes the second time and is gifted a Range Rover by her parents.
It was revealed earlier this month that Kendall Jenner and her young sister, Kylie Jenner, are partnering with Glamhouse to design their first fashion jewelry line for teens and tweens. The line is said to reflect their own unique fashion sensibilities, including fun, girlie and edgier looks, and is due for launch in late Fall 2012.
