Police seek Glendale-area 'Laughing Molester'

GLENDALE, Calif.

He's been called the "Buttocks Bandit," the "Laughing Molester," and the "Glendale Groper."

Police say a woman was walking Saturday night near Lexington and Columbus when her path was blocked by a man who grabbed her breasts and buttocks and then ran away.

Police believe the same man grabbed a woman's buttocks in a parking lot at Maryland and California Monday night.

Then early Tuesday, another woman was groped on Glendale Ave.

The suspect has the same M.O. every time.

"After he's confronted, yelled at, screamed at, he begins to laugh. He thinks it's funny," said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. "One occasion he actually reached out and said 'sorry' and wanted to shake her hand. She continued to yell at him. He laughed and then he ran away."

The victims described the suspect as being of Middle-Eastern descent, in his late 20s or early 30s, standing between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a thin build and short hair. Several times he's worn a dark sweatshirt over his head, dark pants and white shoes.

Police say doesn't have a particular type of woman he's targeting.

"One is Hispanic, one is Asian, one is Caucasian. The one thing that's significant is that they're fairly young women, from their late teens to their mid-20s," said Lorenz.

Police say all the victims were walking alone late at night. Glendale Police believe there are other victims.
