The 44-year-old collapsed outside his Beverly Hills home in the 400 block of N. Maple Drive on Nov. 8. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Coroner's office spokesman Craig Harvey said weight and a transcontinental jet flight were contributing factors.
The cause of death was pulmonary embolism and deep leg vein thrombosis. He also had arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
The self-proclaimed "overweight lover" of hip hop had several hits, including "Nuttin' But Love" and "Now That We Found Love" in the early '90s. He also rapped on the theme song from the TV sketch comedy series "In Living Color."
His hit "The Overweight Lover's in the House" played up his hefty frame.
Myers recently made several TV show appearances, including on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." He also made a cameo in Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller's new film, "Tower Heist."
