The car took out more than half the restaurant's fence and three trees before stopping in the patio fire pit.
In that area there was also a tank of kerosene and a propane tank, which patrons dragged out.
Authorities say the deputy was heading to a call with his lights and sirens on when another driver hit his car.
The deputy had minor injuries and is on paid administrative leave. No one else was hurt.
The cause of the crash is under investigation
