The victim was also hit by a second vehicle and dragged for about 750 feet near West Street and Acacia Avenue.
That driver stopped, but the driver of the first vehicle did not. Police later found that driver's abandoned gray Dodge Magnum in Santa Ana.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
