Elly Mae Clampett Barbie doll lawsuit settled

NEW ORLEANS

Donna Douglas, the actress who played the role of Elly May Clampett, sued CBS and toymaker Mattel, saying they needed her approval for the doll, which uses the character's name and likeness.

But in court documents, CBS and Mattel said they didn't need her approval because the network holds exclusive rights to the character.

The actress' lawsuit sought at least $75,000. Details of the settlement were not released.
