Hit-and-run driver arrested; had child in car

A suspected hit-and-run driver was arrested, and police say a child was in the suspect's car when she hit a pedestrian in Garden Grove.

Guadalupe Quinonez, 29, is accused of hitting and injuring that pedestrian in a 2005 Dodge Magnum near West Street and Acacia Avenue on Wednesday. The victim was also hit by a second vehicle and dragged for about 750 feet, but the driver of the second vehicle stopped.

An abandoned Dodge Magnum was later found in Santa Ana.

Quinonez surrendered to the Garden Grove Police Department at about 2 p.m. Thursday, said police Lt. Jeff Nightengale.

Police say her 7-year-old daughter was in the car at the time. She faces a number of charges, including felony hit-and-run and child endangerment.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
