OTRC: Sinead O'Connor reunites with husband following divorce announcement

Sinead O'Connor was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for her song 'Lay Your Head' from the film 'Albert Nobbs.' The song was written by Glenn Close who also nabbed a nod for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her role in the film. 'I am so happy that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has chosen to acknowledge 'Lay Your Head Down,'' O'Connor said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. 'The beautiful music by Brian Byrne and the absolutely wonderful lyrics by Glenn Close immediately touched me and made me feel proud and privileged to have been asked to lend my voice to their work, to the song and to the film, 'Albert Nobbs.'' 'What an astounding embarrassment of riches these past few days have brought to me, Janet McTeer, our composer Bryan Byrne, and the incomparable Sinead O'Connor who sings our film's song,' Close said in a separate statement about the nomination. 'The whole 'Albert Nobbs' team is walking on air. Thanks to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this extraordinary honor.' Sinead O'Connor is having second thoughts after announcing her divorce from her husband of 16-days Barry Herridge over the holidays and has reunited in the new year.

"Spent beautiful evening of love making with nine [sic] other than husband! Who turned up angelically we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend," O'Connor wrote on Twitter on January 3, continuing later, "Yay!!! we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend again an stay married but we did rush so we gonna return to b friend g friend... an be sickenly happy an go counsellin [sic] an move in in like a yr like regular people.. but stay married an we all in love an [expletive] every other."

O'Connor continued in her enthusiastic Tweets, adding, "yay!!! me husband is a big hairy cave man an came to claim me with his club : ) and now im in cave-land.. yay!! we both go panto!"

The 45-year-old singer, who is likely best known for her 1990 cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U," married Herridge on her birthday on December 8, at the drive-through Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. It marked the singer's fourth marriage.

The pair wed in the back of a vintage pink Cadillac, with the bride in a strapless pink gown and Herridge, an Irish therapist, in a matching light pink shirt. The two split on Christmas Eve, according to the signer.

"I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts," O'Connor wrote in a blog post on December 26. "So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight. I won't under any circumstances ever have any further comments to make on this matter than those I write here this evening. Either privately or publicly."

"Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behavior of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink," O'Connor added. "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected [sic] by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage."

The singer continued, "I saw his life leave him because of how people close to him reacted. And I can't take anyone's life. And a woman wants to be a joy to her husband. So.. U love someone? Set them free."

O'Connor said the two parted amicably and that the couple "made a mistake rushing into getting married."

She also said, "The marriage was 16 days. We lived together for 7 days only.. Until Xmas eve. And we haven't been awful to each other." O'Connor also begs the media to keep away from Herridge and not to hound him at his home.

O' Connor announced her wedding plans on her official website on December 7 writing, "With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, December 8th 2011 at 'an un-disclosed location' in my absolute dream wedding ceremony... very happy girl."

O'Connor made headlines in August with her search for a boyfriend or "sweet sex-starved man" on her personal website under the headline, "Revised advert for boy (man) friend," with a list of criteria.

"Must announce boyfriend search very much still on. If any1 wants a suicidal tourettes ridden fat ugly lunatic with a big fat flappy fanny," O'Connor wrote on September 16, with a link to her ad.

She announced to fans on October 21 that the search was over and she had found her new man.

"Happily I can announce the official end of hunt for boyfriend as successful applicant has been appointed," Sinead wrote on her official website. "No more applications are required. I realize this will be a matter of enormous sorrow to 98% of the men of the world... But hey... Write a song about it... Silence will now ensue as there is much love-making to be done."

O'Connor told fans in September that she was heartbroken over the dissolution of her marriage to Steve Cooney last April, after eight months. She has been married three times and has four children with four different fathers.

Her son Jake Reynolds was conceived during her first marriage to music producer John Reynolds. Her daughter Brigidine Roisine Waters was born in 1996 with her former partner, "The Irish Times" journalist John Waters. Her son Shane was born in 2004 with the help of Irish folk musician Donal Lunny and her fourth child, Yeshua Francis Neil was born in 2006 with former partner Frank Bonadio.

The 45-year-old singer rose to fame in the 80s with her debut album, "The Lion and the Cobra."

In 1999, O'Connor attempted suicide on her 33rd birthday. She opened up about her suicide attempt on a 2007 episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," where she also revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
