Mila Kunis has been named the newest face of Christian Dior, joining her "Black Swan" co-star Natalie Portman at the French fashion house.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Dior," Kunis said in a statement to People magazine. "The brand is iconic in so many ways. It defines fashion, elegance and sophistication."
Kunis appears in the Miss Dior handbags spring fashion campaign, which was shot by Mikael Jansson and will debut later in the month in print and media outlets.
"Mila Kunis is a very talented young actress; she embodies the true modern woman. Her performance in 'Black Swan' was remarkable. She is very gifted," Dior deputy general manager Delphine Arnault told Women's Wear Daily. "We are looking forward to a long relationship with her."
Kunis joins several other stars in the Dior fashion family. Natalie Portman is the spokes model for Miss Dior Cherie perfume, Charlize Theron appears in ads for Dior beauty and J'adore Dior fragrance and Marion Cotillard is the current face of Lady Dior handbags.
Kunis was born in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union and immigrated to Los Angeles when she was 7. The 27-year-old actress credits "The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker for helping her learn English.
Kunis received a Golden Globe nod for her role as a manipulative ballet dancer in "Black Swan," which earned Portman an Academy Award. Kunis told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the 2011 Oscars that she doesn't want to be a "one-trick pony" when it comes to her career.
The actress recently finished filming "Oz: The Great and Powerful," which is slated for release on March 8, 2013.
The movie is directed by Sam Raimi and tells of the origins of the Wizard of Oz, who is played by Franco, 32. Kunis, 27, plays the witch Theodora, while 41-year-old British actress Rachel Weisz from the "Mummy" movies portrays her character's sister, Evanora.
Michelle Williams, who is 31 and has appeared in the series "Dawson's Creek" and the movie "Blue Valentine," plays Glinda, the Good Witch.
Kunis recently appeared opposite Justin Timberlake in the R-rated romantic comedy "Friends With Benefits."
Just prior to the release of the film on July 22, the two made headlines when they accepted YouTube video invitations by a male and female Marine to accompany them to their Marine Corp Balls. Timberlake and Kunis attended the events in November.
