Daniel Radcliffe is surprisingly romantic.

The former "Harry Potter" franchise star opened up about his love life to Parade magazine and girlfriend Rosanne Coker.

Coker, 22, who goes by Rosie or Rose, is reportedly a painter and met Radcliffe in 2007, when she was working as a production assistant on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." She has since worked on the final "Harry Potter" films as well as Radcliffe's new movie, "The Woman in Black."

When asked by the magazine if he was in love with Croker, Radcliffe replied, "Yes, absolutely. When Rosie's here, every day seems better."

"I'm not an easy person to love. There are lots of times when I'm a very good boyfriend, but there are times when I'm useless. I mean, I'm a mess around the house. I talk nonstop. I become obsessed with things," he added. "She loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness, all of those things that I hate about myself. She finds them cute. I guess that's love."

Radcliffe also said his views on marriage have changed over the years. "When growing up, I thought of marriage as being very official, drawing up a contract. It seemed slightly clinical to me," he said. "But then you meet somebody that you really love and you think, 'Actually, I wouldn't mind standing up in front of my friends and family and telling them how much I love you and that I want to be with you forever.'"

The 22-year-old actor also revealed he believed he was "crap" at dating and explained why he decided to give up alcohol last year. "There is nothing glorious or triumphant about it -- it was pathetic, boring, and unhappy," he quipped.

In December, Radcliffe was named as Entertainment Weekly's "Entertainer of the Year" for 2011.

Radcliffe recently ended his run in the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". In the musical, Radcliffe's character is a window washer who uses the titular book to climb the ranks at the World Wide Wickets Company in New York City. "Glee" star Darren Criss took over the role in a limited engagement that ends on January 22.

Radcliffe is also set to star in the film "The Woman in Black," based on the book by Susan Hill. In the movie, set for release on October 28, Radcliffe portrays Arthur Kipps, a lawyer who travels to a village to settle the estate of a deceased client and discovered the place is haunted by the ghost of a scorned woman out for revenge.
