Results of a new study suggest that for a young child, naps may be more important than you know.

Research shows that daytime naps reduce the risk of mood-related problems later in life.

University of Colorado Boulder researchers found that toddlers who miss a nap during the day exhibit more anxiety, less motivation and have a harder time solving problems.

When well-rested, researchers say toddlers are more likely to be positive and ask for help when confused.
