Los Encinos State Historic Park will stay open at least for a year, thanks to an anonymous donor.

The park is located in Encino just south of the 101 Freewy.

It was one of dozens of state parks facing closure because of budget cuts.

But a San Fernando Valley resident who wants to remain anonymous, saw news reports and contributed $150,000 to keep the park open for the next year.

Los Encinos was the site of an old rancho: an adobe home built in the 1800s still stands there.
