OTRC: Christina Aguilera defends curvier figure

Christina Aguilera defended her curvier figure on Friday, saying that she is "very comfortable" in her own skin.

"I'm very confident in my body," Aquilera said during NBC's panel for "The Voice" at the Television Critics Association Winter Session on Friday, Access Hollywood reports. "I think my video works over the years have spoken to that... I've been no stranger to being very comfortable in my own skin."

Aguilera also said that her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, 25, approves of her figure. The singer got a divorce from music marketer Jordan Bratman in the fall of 2010 after five years of marriage. The couple has a son named Max, who will turn four on January 12.

"As long as I'm happy in my own skin, that's all I need, that's all the confirmation I need," the 31-year-old singer continued. "I'm happy where I am, I have a boyfriend that loves my body, I love my body, my son is healthy and happy. That's all that matters."

Aquilera, who got her start on The Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling, rose to fame in 1999 when her singles "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants" debuted.

"I came out on the scene when I was 17 years old," Aguilera said. "'You can never be too much of anything. You can never be too prefect, too thin, too curvy, too voluptuous,' this, that. I've been on all sides of the spectrum.. [Every] female in this business at one time or another has had criticism."

"The Voice" debuted last year and is hosted by Carson Daly. Aguilera sits on the judging panel with fellow singers and coaches Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

All four have been confirmed to return for the second season of "The Voice," which is set to premiere on Feb. 5, 2012 after the Super Bowl.
