Riverside man shot dead by police during domestic violence call

Riverside police responding to a domestic violence call shot and killed a man who struggled with officers.

The incident occurred on the 10700 block of Cypress Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities said 52-year-old David Ledezma got into a confrontation with responding officers, and a fight ensued.

Ledezma was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An officer may have suffered minor injuries during the confrontation with Ledezma.

The circumstances surrounding the initial domestic violence call or what sparked the police confrontation remained unclear.
