Family, friends, fans gather to remember surf legend

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

Friends, family and fans of Sean Collins gathered for a memorial and paddle-out in his honor.

Collins was known for starting Surfline, which is one of the most popular websites to track surf conditions.

The paddle-out took place on the south side of the Huntington Beach pier all to honor a man who touched the lives of many.

"Sean was an amazing father, and a leader, and an intuitive reading of the ocean. He never ignored his sense of the people and or water," said Collins' son, A.J.

Collins died at age 59 of a heart attack last month while playing tennis in Orange County.
