Kim Richards might be kicking off 2012 with a fresh start.
The 47-year-old cast member of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" has left rehab, according to People magazine. Richards was reportedly seeking treatment for alcohol abuse and other "serious issues."
Richards entered an undisclosed treatment center on December 5. Her drinking problems led to a dramatic point in the show's first season finale when her sister Kyle confronted her about the problem in a limousine. Richards has also show erratic behavior in several episodes this season.
In an October episode of the show's second season, new cast member Brandi Glanville -- who is Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife, accused Richards of being "wasted" during the group's game night. Glanville and Richards had a shouting match over the accusation.
In mid-December, Kyle Richards told news outlets that her sister was "doing very well" in rehab but declined to say more.
Richards is a former child actress who starred in "Nanny and the Professor" and "Escape to Witch Mountain." She is the younger sister of Kathy Hilton who is Paris Hilton's mother.
The second season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" made headlines shortly before its premiere in September when Russell Armstrong, husband of cast member Taylor Armstrong, committed suicide in August.
Russell Armstrong was found hanging in a bedroom in a Hollywood Hills home where he had been staying after separating from his wife, who filed for divorce in mid-July.
Other cast members of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" taped the reunion show on January 5, though there is no official word on whether Kim Richards attended the taping, host and Bravo executive Andy Cohen said in his blog it was "high drama, lots of emotion, and some fun and laughs too."
