He's been identified as 49-year-old Antonio Ruiz Martinez. His body was discovered on Monday a few blocks from the Santa Ana River trail.
Police say there were no signs of foul play; they have not ruled out a medical condition as the cause.
Authorities said that they do not believe Martinez' death is related to a series of stabbings attributed to a suspected serial killer who's targeting the homeless.
