Silver Strand Beach robbery suspect at large

OXNARD, Calif.

At 1:40 a.m., deputies responded to the robbery report. The victim said he was walking on the beach when he was confronted by an unknown man wielding a knife.

The suspect demanded the victim's personal property, according to the sheriff's department. The two men struggled and the victim sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound.

The suspect ran toward Kiddie Beach. The victim was hospitalized.

Sheriff's deputies, Oxnard police and the California Highway Patrol officers conducted an extensive search of the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man standing 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build and light skin, wearing a dark-colored hoodie sweatshirt.
