South LA woman killed in front of her house

SOUTH LOS ANGELES

Pamela Reese said her daughter, Michelle Anderson, had gone out to meet a friend, and a few minutes later about 10 p.m., gunshots rang out. Reese said she had no idea that the victim she saw lying on the sidewalk was her daughter.

Paramedics worked frantically to save Anderson, who had been shot in the face.

"When I saw them working on her, I'm like, 'Oh, my God,'" Reese said. "Whoever that is, she's gone. I didn't know it was her at the time."

Reese says what makes matters worse is that her daughter was killed so close to their home at Denker Avenue and 87th Street.

"Who would hate someone that much?" Reese said.

She was shot about 50 yards from her front door.

Detectives said they have little to work with. They have no suspect description, nor a motive.

Detectives were back on the scene Wednesday hoping to get more information from Anderson's family and friends.

They said there were no witnesses to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Los Angeles Police Department at (877) 527-3247.
