Some moviegoers in England demanded refunds for the film, "The Artist," because they were unhappy it's a silent film.

A handful of patrons at Odeon Cinemas also complained about the fact that the film isn't widescreen, another feature from the early movie-making days.

"The Artist" is a black-and-white silent film that harks back to Hollywood's past. It tells the story of a silent-film star whose career is dying due to the arrival of talking pictures.

Odeon said it always offers guests refunds on their tickets, if they talk to employees within the first 10 minutes of a movie.

"The Artist" has already won several Golden Globes and is getting a lot of Oscar buzz.
