Heidi Klum and Seal announced that their nearly seven-year marriage is coming to an end.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the couple said in a statement Sunday night to People magazine. "We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."
TMZ first reported on Saturday that the two planned to divorce this week.
Klum, 38, and Seal, 48, famously renew their wedding vows every year. The power couple is also known for their lavish annual Halloween party and coordinating costumes (See some of their costumes over the years).
The "Project Runway" host and "Kiss from a Rose" singer got married May 10, 2005 and have three children together, Henry Günther, 6, Johan Riley, 5, and Lou, 2. Seal also adopted Klum's 7-year-old daughter, Leni, from her previous relationship with Flavio Briatore. Klum was previously married to celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino.
Seal is set to release his new album, "Soul 2,"on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012.
