OTRC: Demi Moore drops out of 'Lovelace,' film about porn star, amid health crisis

Demi Moore has dropped out of the film "Lovelace," OnTheRedCarpet.com has learned, days after the actress sought treatment following a health crisis.

It was confirmed in early January that Moore, 49, had signed on to play feminist activist Gloria Steinem in the movie, which is about Linda Lovelace, the star of the 1972 porn film "Deep Throat." Moore had even been in contact with the real Steinem.

Her spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on Thursday, January 26: "She is not doing the film."

"Lovelace" is tentatively set for release later this year. Moore's replacement has not been announced. The movie stars Amanda Seyfried as Lovelace, while Sharon Stone, 58, plays her mother.

Moore, who has appeared thinner than usual in recent months and has talked about her "love-hate relationship" with her body, confirmed on Nov. 17, 2011 that she had decided to end her six-year marriage to Ashton Kutcher, 33.

Earlier this week, the Los Angeles City Fire Department said it received a 911 call from someone at Moore's residence and that paramedics transported a person to a hospital, without naming names.

Moore's spokesperson later said in a statement to OnTheRedCarpet.com: "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."

The actress' rep did not comment about whether Moore was currently in a hospital or whether her treatment program would take place inside a medical facility.

Moore and her reps have also not confirmed or denied reports by websites such as TMZ, which said the actress' "friend called paramedics Monday night after the actress inhaled a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide," also known as doing "whip-its," and Radar Online, which said she "is being treated for anorexia, among other substance abuse issues" and quoted a source close to the matter as saying "she collapsed after having an epileptic seizure."

"We have no information beyond our statement," Moore's spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com.

People had also quoted a source close to the matter as saying that Moore "was having what seemed like seizures" at home before she was hospitalized.

Kutcher has not commented publicly about his estranged wife's health crisis and his spokesperson had no immediate comment when reached by OnTheRedCarpet.com. The actor has referenced his split from Moore on his popular Twitter page in the past. No divorce papers have yet been filed.

He was in San Paulo, Brazil at the time of her reported hospitalization and and was earlier this week photographed and videotaped outside a local night club. When asked by a celebrity cameraman, "Is Demi okay?" he did not respond and left in a car, along with a man and woman, as seen in an AKM Images video posted on TMZ.com on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, the "Two and a Half Men" actor Tweeted photos of himself drinking out of a coconut, with the caption "Roughing it," and surfing the flooded streets of San Paulo, Brazil. The actor and former model also attended a local fashion show, which featured a pregnant Alessandra Ambrosio of Victoria's Secret fame.
