Authorities say 20-year-old Ronnie Armstrong was driving a stolen vehicle when an officer tried to pull him over.
Armstrong sped away, leading police on a chase that reached speeds of up to 100 mph.
The pursuit ended near Homeway Drive and Alwick Circle, where officers say Armstrong backed into a marked police car.
He then ran away on foot but was caught.
The officer had just minor injuries and was expected to be OK.
Armstrong was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, possession of stolen property, felony evading and hit-and-run.
