'Three's Company': Where are they now?

Suzanne Somers portrayed the ditzy Chrissy Snow on 'Three's Company,' which ran for eight seasons between 1976 until 1984, but Somers was fired from the show in 1981 after requesting a hefty salary increase from $30,000 per episode to $150,000 plus 10 percent of the profits. 'Three's Company' followed the lives of three single roommates, Jack Tripper (John Ritter), Janet Wood (Joyce DeWitt) and Chrissy Snow (Suzanne Somers), their living arrangement and sexual exploits. At the time of the show's debut in 1976, co-ed living was still somewhat taboo and the trio told the landlord Stanley Roper (Norman Fell) that Jack was gay, while the landlord's wife Helen (Audra Lindley) knew what 'the kids' were doing. When Somers was written off the show in 1981, her character Chrissy Snow was sent to care for her sick mother in Fresno and was temporarily replaced by Chrissy's cousin Cindy Snow (Jenilee Harrison) before their permanent roommate, nurse Terri Alden (Priscilla Barnes) moved in. Lindley and Fell went on to star in the spinoff 'The Ropers,' which ran between 1979 and 1980 on ABC, which showed the couple moving from their 'Three's Company' home to live in the fancier Cheviot Hills community and sold the building. The new owner's brother Ralph Furley (Don Knotts) took over as the landlord. Somers went on to star as Carol Lambert in the '90's series 'Step by Step' and wrote a series of best-selling self-help books, two autobiographies, four diet books and a poetry book called 'Touch Me.' The 65-year-old actress grew up in San Bruno, California and attended the now defunct San Francisco College for Women. She left school sophomore year after becoming pregnant by Bruce Somers, who she married. They welcomed Bruce Jr. in November 1965 and Somers left Bruce three years later. Somers met her future husband Alan Hamel in 1968, when he was married to another woman. Following their three year affair, Hamel left his wife and married Somers in 1977, when Hamel also became her manager. In 2001, Somers announced that she had breast cancer and underwent a lumpectomy and radiation therapy. In addition to 'Three's Company' and 'Step by Step,' Somers has appeared in films like 'American Graffiti' and on series like 'Anniversary Show' and 'She's the Sheriff' and hosted the series 'Candid Camera' and 'The Suzanne Somers Show.'
