Aspiring actor accused of Hollywood date rape

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES

Robert Aaron Stephens faces charges in the sexual assaults of two women. Police say in both cases, he took them for a night out in the Hollywood area, got them intoxicated, and then took advantage of them at his home.

"He'll somehow get them so intoxicated that they can't take care of themselves and he'll then have unconsensual sex with them," said Los Angeles Police Commander Andrew Smith.

Smith said the alleged sexual assault happened at Stephens' apartment on Sunset Boulevard in October 2010.

And in May 2009 investigators said Stephens was charged with raping another woman, but that the case fell apart during trial.

Stephens' latest rape trial is slated to begin this month, but investigators fear there may be other victims.

"We believe that there are other victims out there who, for whatever reason, are afraid to come forward," said Smith. "As you know many times in sexual assaults, women don't come forward and we're hoping that someone sees the picture, hears the reports and comes forward and talks to us about things this guy has done."

Steven is out on bail awaiting trial. He was not available to be reached for comment.
