It's a position he can wholeheartedly appreciate.
"It's nice to be in something, or in two things, that people seem to be enjoying so much," Goodman said.
And while he's enjoying the accolades "The Artist" is receiving, he also admits it was a challenge to make a silent film.
"The fact that Jean, the lead, spoke no English at the time, and I speak absolutely no French, or ever will, it made for some pretty interesting focus," he said.
But he thinks the quality of "The Artist" speaks volumes.
"It's a great movie to watch with other people," he said. "Better than sitting at home with a DVD."
