Britney Spears revealed a bit of her inner TV geek on Twitter.
The singer wrote to her followers on January 31, "I know everybody is excited about the Super Bowl, but I personally can't wait to see the next episode of 'Modern Family!' Funniest show on TV."
Sofia Vergara, who stars as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the ABC comedy series, reTweeted Spears' Tweet. Shortly after #GetBritneyOnModernFamily became a trending topic on the social network.
When a fan asked Spears if she would like to be on the series, the singer replied, "Ahhhh I would love to be on it!"
"Modern Family" also stars Ed O'Neill as Jay Pritchett, the patriarch of an eclectic family and husband to Gloria. Jesse Tyler Ferguson plays Pritchett's son and he and Eric Stonestreet's character are a gay couple raising a Vietnamese baby girl. Julie Bowen plays Pritchett's daughter and Ty Burrell portrays her husband. ABC is the parent company of OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Several actors have guest starred on the series including Edward Norton, Elizabeth Banks and Matt Dillon.
Spears has appeared on guest spots on television in the past including roles on "Will & Grace," "Glee" and two episodes of "How I Met Your Mother." She also appeared in the movie "Crossroads" in 2003 and started acting early as a child star on "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" with Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell.
In December, Spears and her former agent, Jason Trawick became engaged. Trawick and Spears have been dating since the summer of 2009. Prior to that, the two had a professional relationship as Trawick was Spears' manager. The two ended their professional ties in May 2010 to "focus on their personal relationship."
