Authorities said 51-year-old Jacqueline Johnson-Seright of Victorville met the victim while attending "The Spinners" gym in Apple Valley. Johnson-Seright convinced the victim to hire her as a personal trainer and then as a housekeeper.
Johnson-Seright is accused of stealing the victim's checkbook and writing out 15 checks totaling about $6000. For months, she told the victim not to file a police report because she would pay the money back.
Johnson-Seright was arrested after authorities served a search warrant and found evidence at her home on Wednesday. She was booked on charges of elder abuse, check fraud, burglary and grand theft. Her bail was set at $125,000.
Officials said Johnson-Seright attended different gyms in the High Desert area. They're concerned that there may be other victims.
