Rihanna often sports dramatic styles and this week, the singer went platinum blonde for a fashion magazine photo shoot.
Rihanna shared photos of her transformation on Twitter and Lockerz, writing, "#Back2Work 1st Cover of the year!!!! #ELLE"
The singer appeared to be topless in the photo, which was followed by another photo of her wearing cropped denim shorts and black leather thigh-high boots, which she called "stripperish."
Rihanna was previously spotted with natural-looking light brown curls and told fans on the micro-blogging site that she did dye it for the cover shoot and was also wearing a weave.
Rihanna recently made headlines for having the phrase "Thug Life" tattooed on her knuckles, in an homage to the late rapper Tupac Shakur, who had the phrase tattooed on his stomach. He was shot dead at age 25 in 1996. The killer was never found.
The late rapper's "Thug Life" tattoo stood for "The Hate U Give Little Infants (Expletive) Everybody." Like him, Rihanna has several tattoos all over her body, including on her neck, wrist and back.
Rihanna's 6th studio album, "Talk That Talk" was released on November 21. The album is a follow-up to the singer's 2010 album "Loud." The music video for the album's lead single, "We Found Love" was unveiled in October.
